NO AUDITION! United by a love of singing! Our repertoire is taken from the roots of Soul and Gospel music.

The Heartland Delta Singers are a harmony singing group based in Dereham. They formed out of the success of the Dereham Blues Festival   lead by Lauren. In only a few weeks singers from the workshop got together and performed on the streets of Dereham for an authentic New Orleans festival feel. The workshops were so popular that the group have decided to carry on. Dereham is slap in the middle of Norfolk hence the name The Heartland Delta Singers and also we wanted to have a blues/gospel name that suggested a group rather than a formal choir.

The choir sing a wide range or repertoire that encompasses all things blues, soul and gospel related from traditional to contemporary, moving ballads to full-on foot stompers. From James Bay to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Elvis to PItch Perfect.

We are currently working on You Gotta Be by Desree, Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone, Sinnerman by Nina Simone and I No Ways Tired by James Cleveland

The Heartland Delta Singers get together on Tuesdays at Toftwood Scout Hut (click for directions) at 7.45pm.

Feel free to come along and give it a try. We don't hold auditions and many people in the choir are new to harmony singing too.
